Hebrew Numbers and letters

In Hebrew, when speaking a number without an implied noun (e.g. when counting, or providing a modern telephone number) the feminine form is used.

In scripture Hebrew numbers and years were written out as full words. The use of Hebrew numerals in numbered lists (A, B, C, etc) is thought to be due to Greek influence (see below) ca 200 BC

י yod Play The Hebrew numeral for 10, the character "i" i.e. Yod or Jot is the tiniest letter (and features the infinite dot). The next "deck".

Without Jehovah (in Hebrew spelled iHVH), that "i" is like the bottomless pit, endless, with nothing inside.
Note too the Hebrew phrase "yada yada yada" it means the person won't stop talking but their words mean nothing.

For ordinal numbers greater than ten the cardinal is used.
