The German word for "clock" is "Uhr". It does indeed come from an old word for "hour," as it means both "clock" and "o'clock" and is used for telling time. It is believed to be related to the Proto-Indo-European word for time and was also influenced by the Latin word for hour, "hora" 
Stunde (from a very old word "stand") is the modern German word for hour.

In Greek: The shadow of the steps (anabathmos) on which the sun has gone down, the ten steps of your father's house, I will turn the sun back ten steps, and the sun will go up ten steps on which the shadow has gone down.
In Latin: Behold, I will make the shadow of the steps, which it had gone down on the dial (Horologio) of Ahaz, go back ten steps ..
