Apocrypha in 405

Click here to see the Extra Books (14 in all), that took the Wycliffe Bible (first edition published in "middle English" 1382) and KJV (first edition published in early modern English in 1611) up from 66 books to 80 books.

The books had been included in Jerome's Latin Vulgate ca 405, translated from the Greek Septuagint by either Jerome or his associates, but named by him "apocryphal" (meaning hidden away or of unclear authorship).
But they were subsequently included in all Roman Catholic Latin and Greek Orthodox Greek Bibles.

Excluded by the Jewish scribes from the Hebrew Old Testament, and later by the British and Foreign Bible Society, particularly after 1826.
This included that 1769 online edition with its 77 total words as seen by Elton in 2023.
